The latter half of the novella transforms tragedy into redemption. Kaikeyi, now queen of a reformed Lanka, invites her son Bharata to rule Lanka, forging a lasting bond between the two once-opposed realms. Peace reigns briefly before the rise of Ahiravana, a shadowy underworld sorcerer whose invasion forces Ayodhya and Lanka to unite once more. Under Rama's divine command and Kaikeyi's rekindled warrior spirit, humans, vanaras, and Rakshasas wage an epic battle beneath the sea, triumphing through unity and faith. In the end, Kaikeyi's journey-from ambition and betrayal to wisdom and reconciliation-embodies the novella's central theme: that dharma endures not through destiny alone, but through the courage to rewrite fate itself.
