Autorenporträt

James Clavell (1921-1994) fue novelista, guionista, director, veterano de la Segunda Guerra Mundial y prisionero de guerra. Es conocido sobre todo por sus novelas épicas de la Saga Asiática, que comenzó con el best seller de 1962 El rey de las ratas, y sus adaptaciones televisivas. También escribió guiones para películas como La gran evasión y La mosca, y fue guionista, director y productor de Rebeliónen las aulas. Sus libros Shogun , La casa noble, Tai-Pan y Torbellino fueron éxitos de ventas de The New York Times.
