Kingdom in the Redwoods is a modern-day allegory that addresses today's societal issues that young readers need to know how to navigate. Keven does an excellent job through his writing, plot, setting, and use of allegory to bring the reader to a place where he or she draws his or her own conclusions, inevitably seeing that there needs to be an absolute truth and the anarchy and chaos that comes when everyone makes him or herself the most significant and important being. The book is truly multi-generational illustrating the significance of family-- both parents and grandparents-- and the influence that they have in their children's lives. It would make for an amazing family read-aloud and open up many important and needed conversations to address the modern-day challenges that children face and how to overcome them all through one's identity in Jesus Christ, and the place of God's infallible word in our life. I am thankful to Keven for writing this novel and excited for the impact it will have on our next generation of children who will be blessed to read it.
