Locked in orbit around Charon is a mausoleum ship, onto which Cull and the other crew members are able to escape the doomed prison ship. The mausoleum ship is holding thousands of corpses of unknown providence, and is stalked by the mysterious Worm Priest. It is in these halls, among the whispers and dreams of the dead, that Cull will come to a final reckoning with the Moon Spider and his own demented obsessions.

Nathan Ballingrud is the author of The Strange, Wounds: Six Stories from the Border of Hell, North American Lake Monsters, and the Lunar Gothic trilogy. He's twice won the Shirley Jackson Award, and has been shortlisted for the World Fantasy, British Fantasy, Bram Stoker, and Locus Awards. His stories have been adapted into the Hulu limited series Monsterland and the film Wounds. He lives in Asheville, NC.
