Dr. Pushpita Awasthi is een Indiase vrouw met Europese wortels. Ze is als denker, filosoof, schrijver, dichter, journalist, activist, verbonden met vele (niet-)gouvernementele instellingen. Haar literaire reis is verankerd in de Indiase diaspora met vele mijlpalen. Buitenlandse reizen en langdurige verblijven resoneren koloniale culturen en ontdekken de pathos, dilemma's, ontberingen, strijd, identiteitscrisis en cultuurverlies van vijf generaties, gevangen in de matrix van oorsprong en geadopteerde land. Pushpita Awasthi is drager van mondiale menselijke gevoeligheden door taal en literatuur te omarmen. In haar geschriften pleit ze voor wereldwijde vrede, geweldloosheid en menselijkheid, met een onwankelbaar optimisme dat India klaarstaat om het duister van deze materialistische, waardenarme wereld te verdrijven door middel van het licht van menselijkheid, spiritualiteit, zorg voor het klimaat, een natuurgerichte benadering en harmonisatie van culturen.
