The incredible truth of our life in Christ is this: we are sons of God-and because sons, we have the leading of the Holy Spirit. It's not something we have to beg for. It's not a rare experience for a few special people. It's completely normal for every believer. Being led by the Spirit isn't a prayer request. It's not a goal to aim for. It's not even something you need faith for. It's a fact. A present reality. You, Christian, are led by the Spirit. Think about it: in the Old Testament, what made someone a prophet? The Holy Spirit would come upon them from time to time. That's what marked them as different. But in Christ, we have something far greater-the Holy Spirit doesn't just come upon us occasionally. He lives in us. Permanently. Forever. So what does that make you? Greater than a prophet, for sure. The Lord Jesus spoke of this before His death and resurrection, saying the Spirit of truth would soon dwell with us and be in us (John 14:17). That was a promise looking forward today-the era of the New Covenant, the day we now live in. Paul picked up that same thought in Romans 8:14: "As many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God." He wasn't giving us a condition to meet-he was stating a reality. If you are in Christ, you are led by the Spirit. This book is here to help you become more aware of that reality. We'll look at how the Holy Spirit worked with the Lord Jesus, how He led believers in the early Church, and what the Scriptures say about His role in our daily lives today. We'll spend time in Acts, in the Epistles, and in the words of the Jesus Himself. Now, just to be clear: this book won't give you a step-by-step guide on "how to be led." Indeed, no one can teach you that. The fellowship and leading of the Holy Spirit is native to you. The Holy Spirit is already in you, and He is your teacher. "But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as His anointing teaches you concerning all things..." (1 John 2:27) You don't need to go searching outside of yourself for some special leading. You've already received the Spirit. You are one with Him (1 Corinthians 6:17), and He is already leading you. You just need to recognize it. So, this is an invitation-not to learn something new, but to become more aware of what's already yours in Christ. To open your eyes to what the Holy Spirit is doing in you and through you every single day.
