What if one backyard party could map the beating heart of Rock 'n' Roll-and the history of peace and love it powered? KYANA WOODSTOCK: One More Day of Peace and Music is a memoir that turns a generation's soundtrack into a lived practice.
We inherit slogans-Peace, Love, Music-but often lose the messy, human, funny, contradictory stories that gave them meaning. Many know Woodstock as a poster, not a practice. This book restores the connective tissue between riffs and reckonings, between teenage earworms and community rituals.

Part 1 gathers 69 vivid coming-of-age vignettes from the 1960s and 1970s-first Beatles jolts, The Cabin with friends, first concerts, rites of passage, freedom found and its fallout. Part 2 chronicles 24 years of Kyana Woodstock, the backyard festival that began with 14 friends and a TV, grew to live bands and fireworks, and leapt to the Lincoln Amphitheatre-interwoven with candid "Sideroads," archival invites and articles from the "Ministry of Propaganda," and nods to The Game of LIFE. Expect an unbuttoned, respectful voice-even on politics and faith-and an epilogue dreaming toward 2044.

Autorenporträt
Andrew Verkamp, born circa 1960, is a classic Rocking 'N' Rolling child of the '60's. Lived most of his LIFE® in the equally rocky and rolling, wooded hills of Southern Indiana. Formally ("keep your day job") a seasoned business professional - a LIFE®time of running a dozen or so plants/businesses in varying leadership positions. Evolving during the past couple of decades into a self-employed road warrior. Senior Management Consultant focused on supporting/leading 87 different/diverse businesses through major cultural change = dramatic, rapid (and sustainable) improvements/results... in the key business metrics of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost. Just another Clark Kent/Bruce Wayne/Peter Parker.Informally, right under the surface, lives (thrives) a genuine peace-loving "super" hippie who never quite outgrew the passions of his youth. Back in the '70s fell deeply in love/lust with his accountant/editor/lover/best friend/soulmate, married circa 1981 = Cheryl ... +2 adult sons + 2 daughters-in-law + 4 grandchildren. The author hidden even further below the surface found its way out and into this-his very first book. Hope you enjoy. One More Day of Peace and Music.
