Angela Amato is a former New York Police Department detective who left the force to become a legal aid attorney. She is the coauthor, with Joe Sharkey, of the novels Lady Gold and Jackpot. Amato is now a television writer and producer, and was nominated for a Writers Guild of America Award for The Good Wife.
