Chris W. Schmidt was born and raised in a small town in southwestern Iowa. He earned his medical degree from the University of Iowa and completed his residency training in San Francisco.
Following service in the U.S. Army, he went on to practice medicine for nearly forty-five years. Now retired, he lives with his wife in a vibrant retirement community in Arizona. They are the proud parents of four grown sons and grandparents to eight grandchildren.
