Liverpool, 1973. The city is a tinderbox of strikes, poverty, and political unrest. On a crumbling housing estate where shadows linger longer than daylight, boys have been vanishing for decades-swallowed whole by the streets, leaving behind nothing but whispers.

Renowned criminologist Delbert Walsh has spent five agonizing years searching for his only son. Once a respected policeman, now a man fraying at the edges, Walsh drowns his failures in whisky as the trail grows colder. But he's certain of one thing: the disappearances are no coincidence. Someone has been hunting children, and the hunt is far from over.

When Carol Blake and her three friends cross paths with Walsh, their ordinary lives spiral into a nightmare. As secrets seep from the cracks of the estate and the net tightens around a predator who knows every alley and back door, survival becomes a desperate game. In a city where trust is a luxury and danger hides in plain sight, who will make it out alive?
