In their journey through his incarceration, her divorce, discovering cancer, and having major surgeries to prevent paralysis from the neck down, they fall inexplicably in Love with a capital L. But they must overcome huge obstacles, for both have received death sentences.

Written in letter format, this story is raw, honest, and true-to-life in describing their spiritual transformations. It is a self-help manual, an examination of the brain and a testament to the power of our thoughts to create our reality. It is an honest exploration of many of the systems that make up our world: the criminal justice system, the healthcare system, religious systems, the education system, government systems, and the judicial system. It examines nature and mans relationship to it. It shows the family unit in all of its dysfunction and includes an examination of humanitys uglier side in terms of how it deals with racism, addiction, disparity, injustice, mental illness, obesity, apathy, complacency, and shame and sin. But more importantly, it is a story of redemption, gratitude, hope, and grace. This story offers a discovery of how miracles occur. It pays homage to the truth that Love does indeed conquer all.

Autorenporträt

Vandy Singleton has a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Tulsa and a master's degree in administrative leadership from the University of Oklahoma. She has taught a variety of college classes including composition, literature, creative writing, humanities, and more for over twenty-five years-up until cancer changed the course of her life. Her professional titles have included instructor, student success advisor, disabilities coordinator, ombudsman, and academic support coordinator. In addition, she helped to develop an Upward Bound program in Northeastern Oklahoma. Her primary career objective has always been to empower others by helping them gain knowledge and an education, especially those less fortunate or those that struggle. "Although I studied English in the hopes of becoming a writer someday, I have no regrets where my career has taken me. I think I have been able to touch lives helping literally hundreds of people," Vandy said. But a cancer diagnosis forced Vandy to re-direct her life and her energy. Now, her wish is to become a writer and a recorder of humanity. "I hope to impart a different vision of life. No one is more amazed by this story than me-a gift that I feel so very blessed to have received. It has literally saved my life," she said. Vandy currently resides in Clear Creek Canyon in Fish Lake National Forest in central Utah with her three cats, Mojo, Telly-May, and Katy-Fey.

Leonard L. Singleton, a graduate of Langston University, has a bachelor's degree in business management with a minor in computer programming. However, his real education began while suffering through a horrible addiction. It was through this addiction that he would discover the power of Spirit. While incarcerated at Nottoway Correctional Center in Virginia, he became active in the church and encouraged his fellow inmates by sharing through example and by teaching them the importance of being connected to the Spirit.
