Alberto Ferlin has worked in the field of clinical endocrinology and andrology since 1995. He is an associate professor of endocrinology at the University of Brescia, Department of Clinical and Experimental Sciences, Unit of Endocrinology and previously has worked for 20 years at the University of Padova, Department of Medicine, Unit of Andrology and Reproductive Medicine. His principal research fields include: molecular biology and genetics of spermatogenesis and male infertility, cryptorchidism and testicular cancer; role of FSH in the regulation of spermatogenesis and therapy of male infertility; pharmacogenetics of male infertility; testicular expression profiles in male infertility; functional analysis of androgen receptor gene, INSL3 and Y chromosome genes; pre-implantation genetic diagnosis; sperm genetics; molecular and clinical aspects of Klinefelter syndrome; testis-bone cross-talk; systemic effect of INSL3; male hypogonadism and male osteoporosis. He participated in research programs at the University of Padova, Telethon, the Italian Ministry of University, Veneto Region, Italian Health Ministry and cooperated in European and non-European research projects. He is president of the Italian Society of Andrology and Medical Sexology for 2016-2018. He has been and invited speaker at more than 150 international congresses and national congresses and is the winner of 12 scientific awards. He is an associate editor for Human Reproduction, Andrology, and Frontiers in Endocrinology, and referee for many international scientific journals. He is the author of more than 300 publications. Silvia Migliaccio has been active in the field of clinical endocrinology and nutrition since 1995. She is an associate professor of applied medical technical sciences at the University of "Foro Italico" of Rome, Department of Movement, Human and Health Sciences, Unit of Endocrinology. Her principal research fields include: molecular biology and clinical aspects of skeletal diseases, male and female osteoporosis, gender medicine; life-style and chronic diseases, adipose-bone-muscle tissues cross-talk; steroid receptor and intracellular signalling. She is editor of Multidisciplinary Approach to Obesity (Springer), and referee for many international scientific journals. She participated in research programs at the University of Foro Italico of Rome, Telethon, AIRC, Italian Ministry of University and collaborated in European and non-European research projects. She is also national secretary of the Italian Society of Food Sciences and has been an invited speaker at several international and national congresses. She is the author of more than 150 publications.
