Roy W. Rice is a consultant based in Alexandria, Virginia. The author of Porosity of Ceramics (Marcel Dekker, Inc.) and the author or coauthor of nearly 300 scientific publications, including journal papers, book chapters, and conference proceedings, as well as the holder of nearly 30 patents, Mr. Rice is a Fellow of the American Society for Metals and the American Ceramic Society. He received the B.S. (1957) and M.S. (1962) degrees in physics from the University of Washington, Seattle.
