Events happen in their last semester to Christmas that changes many opinions about Gilbert, because one of his bullies , who is also a spoilt brat and head cheerleader, gets attacked in the night and it so happens, that Gilbert the school loony,is the one who comes to her rescue. This shakes the belief system of many in school , which brings with it a new beginning and new perspective on true friendship among the young students.
