His teaching and research areas are water resources management and GIS, hydrogeochemistry, pollution of water resources by geogenic and anthropogenic activities, groundwater-seawater interaction, water quality and health, and mining. He has been awarded the Indian National Chapter- International Association of Hydrogeologists (INC-IAH) Young Scientist Award 2022 for his research contribution to groundwater investigation and management. He is a member of the Indian National Young Academy of Science (INYAS). He is a Chair of the Research Funding Working Group of the Marie Curie Alumni Association (MCAA) and an Executive Member of the Governing Body of the INC-IAH. Also, he is a member of the Steering Committee of the Early Career Hydrogeologists Network (ECHN), IAH. He was a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Environment, Land and Infrastructure Engineering, Politecnico di Torino, Turin, Italy, for around 4 years. He has done an MSc and MPhil in Environmental Science and completed his PhD degree in Environmental Science from the Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad, India. He was awarded Erasmus Mundus and Marie Sk¿odowska-Curie Actions Scholarships. He has published several research articles in various reputed international and national journals, and many worldwide workers very well appreciate his works in these respective fields. He has served as a reviewer for many international journals. T. N. Singh is the Director of the Indian Institute of Technology Patna (IITP), India, and Ex-Vice-Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith University, Varanasi, India. He is an expert in the fields of rock mechanics, mining geology, and clean energy. He received his PhD degree from the Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi, in 1991 and subsequently served the institute until 2003. He has received many prestigious awards, such as the National Mineral Award, the first P. N. Bose Mineral Award, the SEAGATE Excellence Award for Geo-Engineering, and the GSI Sesquicentennial Commemorative Award. He has nearly 30 years of experience in research and teaching, with 50 doctoral theses completed under his supervision, and has authored more than 418 publications in various journals and conferences of national and international repute, with total citations of over 17,490. He is on the governing and advisory councils of several national institutes and universities. Abhay Kumar Singh is currently working as a chief scientist at the CSIR-Central Institute of Mining and Fuel Research, Dhanbad, India. He has obtained BSc (Hons) and MSc degrees in Geology from Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi, and MPhil and PhD in Environmental Science from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, India. He has made a good contribution towards the understanding of the Earth surface processes and impacts of mining and industrial activities on natural resources and their management. He has successfully completed a number of Science and Technology (S&T) and industry-sponsored projects related to rainwater chemistry, groundwater chemistry, groundwater management, mine water environment, and environmental impact assessment (EIA)/environmental management plan (EMP) study of coal and non-coal mines. He has published more than 100 research papers in National and International Journals/Seminar/Symposia, with total citations of over 5700. He has travelled to the United Kingdom, Nepal, Singapore, Malaysia, Italy, and Mauritius in academic-related pursuits.
