After I moved to the northern jungles of Malaysia, I watched, observed, and studied a troop of long-tail macaque monkeys in their natural habitat from the safety of my window. I saw the monkeys play, eat, and communicate with each other, noticing they formed a hierarchical society that mirrored humans. Our hairy little cousins on the tree of evolution act more human than we thought, or, depending on perspective, we act more like monkeys.
