MRI Atlas of the Infant Rat Brain: Brain Segmentation features an entirely new coronal, sagittal and horizontal set of tissue cut in regular 9 µm intervals with accompanying photographs of MRI data and color drawings of selected brain regions in the three planes. The use of the single brain allows for greater consistency between sections, while color masking offers advances in manual segmentation techniques with increased refinement in the definition of brain areas. Readers will benefit from uniform and consistent manual tissue segmentation of MRI data in an infant rat brain. This volume…mehr
This volume provides readers the first infant rat brain MRI atlas and a valuable resource in research analyses of the developing brain for structural and functional MRI analyses. - Provides a one-of-a-kind neuroanatomical reference for the infant rat brain based on MRI acquisition at 2 weeks of age - Covers 31 coronal sections of a single rat brain, allowing for better consistency and delineations of the structural outlines - Illustratively represents a 3D view of the brain and its gross structures for the ease of visual learning - Presents 31 coronal sections of a single rat brain - Includes an eBook in PDF version that is also available for improved digital readability, thus allowing for printing at different magnifications

Autorenporträt
Dr. Dusica Bajic MD, PhD is an Associate Professor of Anaesthesiology at Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA. She received her MD from the Medical School of the University of Belgrade, Serbia and PhD from the Department of Pharmacology at the University of Illinois at Chicago, IL. Her postdoctoral training included: (1) Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology at the University of Illinois at Chicago, (2) Anesthesia Residency training at Yale New Haven Hospital, Yale University, as well as (3) Pediatric Anesthesia Fellowship at Boston Children's Hospital, Harvard University in Boston, MA where she now works as board certified pediatric anesthesiologist and physician-scientist since 2008. It is her work in the field of neurobiology of pain and pain management that has led to her implementing neuroimaging tools in studying the effects on developing brain.Devon M. Evanovich BS, MSci is an MD candidate at Tufts University School of Medicine, Boston, MA (class of 2025). He received his bachelor's degree in Cellular, Molecular, and Developmental Biology at the University of California, Santa Cruz, CA and his Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences at Tufts University School of Medicine, Boston, MA. During his latter studies, he completed competitive Pediatric Anesthesiology Clinical and Research Internship (PACARI) at Boston Children's Hospital, under the mentorship of Dr. Dusica Bajic that led to his contribution to this work.Chandler R.L. Mongerson BS, MSci is a PA candidate at Missouri State University Physician Assistant School Program, Springfield, MO (class of 2025). She received her Bachelor of Science in Psychobiology at the University of California - Los Angeles, CA, as well as Master of Science degree in Medical Sciences from Boston University School of Medicine, Boston, MA. Her wealth of research experience over the past decade led to her expertise in neuroimaging. While working with Dr. Dusica Bajic as a Research Assistant II at Boston Children's Hospital, her research expertise allowed for ideation, creative input, and creation of this atlas.
