Prairie Grove, Washington County, Arkansas and has researched
the Allen Family History for over fifty years.
John Allen and his son Samuel left Ireland about 1729 because
of poverty and hardship brought on by the potato famine and
settled in New Castle, Delaware. Samuel's son Dougherty and
his family migrated from Delaware to Orange County, North
Carolina Then on to Washington County, Virginia about 1789.
From there Daughderty's descendants Scattered throughout the
United States.
