Autorenporträt
Author Stan Renfro, a Bat Conservation International member, teaches Navajo studies and English at Wingate high school in Fort Wingate, New Mexico. He was also a finalist in the Teacher in Space program.

Renfro is currently spending time in Jemez Springs, NM, where he says he's "gone to his homeland to refresh the energy sources of my psyche."

Renfro, who taught school until this past February, says he feels a call to arms. "Love is free and yet a money economy is dragging us under. We need the balls to be."

An avid earth lover, Renfro says Scoshshee is "barking us back" into a common sky, a common legacy of air and mountain and our energy to do something about our predicament other than cry."

Not only does Renfro encourage us to do something about the state of things, he says "we don't have to have a world full of broken plastic things unless that's what we want. Certainly our ancestors gave us the gumption to survive. Not only survive, but thrive, on nature."
