Dispite her troubled home and lack of affection from Papa, Nellie finds fatherly love in her oldest brother. Her other two older brothers are ready playmates. She prefers overalls to frilly dresses and playing ball with boys to playing house with girls. Nellie's red hair and freckles never get in the way of her childhood play. But as she grows into a young woman, they become her nemesis. Will she ever find true love?

Will her faith survive the tragedy that befalls the family one Christmas eve?

Autorenporträt

Danie Marie's passion is to author stories that engage her readers, and in some way, she prays, impacts their lives in a positive way. While fictionalized, many of her stories are inspired by true events, and one thing she doesn't mind, is taking risks in her writing.

Danie took first place in an online Christmas short story competition, and third in another competition. You can read her personal stories in two of the Inspire Christian Writers anthologies, Inspire Faith, and Inspire Trust.

Danie and her husband live in Northern California with her bird, Buddy, a cockatiel. They especially enjoy spending time at their second home in Lake Tahoe, but most of all, being with their son and daughter-in-love, and their two grandsons.
