Hamish McDougall is Executive Director of the New Zealand Institute of International Affairs - Whare Tawahi-a-mahi i Aotearoa. Previously, his doctoral study of international history at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), focussed on the topic of Anglo-New Zealand relations in the context of European integration.

This is a revisionist book of a relatively well-studied subject in history . The book certainly contributes to the field . But I recommend it to readers, although it will probably appeal more to expert ones, rather than general. (Jatinder Mann, JACANZS, Vol. 4, August, 2024)
