Produktbeschreibung
An Ancient Egyptian handmaiden finds herself at a remote oasis in the Sahara. She can remember attending the Pharaoh's funeral, but why is she here? And why is one of the palace cats sitting beside her? As time passes, the peace of her oasis is disturbed by strange soldiers, from another time and country. She finds she is on the fringes of a conflict that she cannot understand, guided only by an RAF pilot who has come to Egypt from a country far to the north. She and her cat are drawn to Cairo, into a war fought not in the desert but in the restaurants and nightclubs of the modern capital. Spies, dancing girls, counterfeiters, terrorists, all make Cairo a very dangerous place. Will her pilot be able to guide her safely through the dangers?

Autorenporträt
Jacqueline lives in the far north of Queensland, Australia, on the shores of the Coral Sea. She has a house built for the tropical climate - on tall stilts and with walls that open to let the breeze blow through. She lives with her husband who is easily managed, and her marmalade cat Rudy who definitely isn't. Jacqueline writes romantic stories because she is an unrepentant romantic at heart. She also loves travelling to interesting places and meeting new people, and they find a place in her stories too. When she is not writing, she is kept busy by her garden which is still maturing. Right now her coconut trees look young and untidy but come back in five years and they will be towering over the house. And what could be more romantic than a coconut palm?
