Candice heard Kevin's voice screaming at someone somewhere in the house. She never heard him use such a vocabulary before. Standing by the open doorway, she saw three people in that room. One of those people was a beautiful woman sitting at a desk. A plump man was sitting on a swivelling chair by the desk. Kevin was looking at the plump man demanding money. "Come on now, Steven, I want my money right now." The woman said, "Are you now running around with black bitches again."

Candice saw Steven holding a gun and pointing it at Kevin. She saw Steven pulling the trigger,. Buthad he missed Kevin. The woman screamed as the bullet struck her shoulder, and Candice turned and ran out of the house. She heard several more sounds as Steven continued shooting. Someone nearby heard the gunshots and called the police.

The police officers found Candice talking to a reporter, trying to explain what happened. The police went inside the house. They found three bodies, almost dead, and they called emergency services.

The police seemed to suspect Candice as the perpetrator and warned her to stay put. After a few months, Candice was in court facing the magistrate. She was facing murder and attempted murder charges. None of her friends supported her, but her ex-boyfriend's brother came to pay her bail money. Joseph had become a wealthy man with several law enforcement agencies serving him.

Joseph's brother, Sam, was living with his new girlfriend at the time. She became a handful, trying to fulfil her desire to have at least one child. Sam was not ready to have kids. He was having problems with his girlfriend, Lucy. She claimed he was her child's father, but Sam discovered he was incapable of being a father. In the end, she settled out of court,, paying Sam huge amounts of money. He became a multimillionaire, but that was not the end of their relationship.

Steven did not survive, his wife Isabelle survived,, and so did Kevin. Isabelle decided to sue Kevin for rape. Joseph became aware that Isabelle was falsely suing Kevin. He knew all along they had been having an affair. He offered her a sizeable amount of money and she withdrew the case. He devised a plan for Kevin to pay back every cent he stole.

Candice and Margaret became unholy friends.
