Anne Isabella Ritchie, the eldest daughter of William Makepeace Thackeray and Isabella Gethin Shawe, was a prominent English writer and literary figure during the late Victorian era. Her writing career included several well-received novels such as Old Kensington, The Village on the Cliff, and Mrs. Dymond, which were known for their insight into domestic life and the quiet emotional landscapes of women. Married to Richmond Ritchie in 1877, she had two children, William and Hester. Through her marriage and literary connections, she remained closely tied to the cultural elite of her time.
