Autobiography: I grew up on the family cattle ranch in southern British Columbia on the scenic Kettle River, when a horse and rifle were not just essential tools but my favorite things. I trained horses and competed in rodeos before following my childhood dream to be a police officer. I joined the Cheyenne, Wyoming Police Department in 1983, where I served for 25 years, spending over half that time in undercover and detective positions. Additional duties on the force included managing the firearms training unit and SWAT Commander.
When the Iraq War began, I took a job with DOD as a SWAT instructor in Baghdad. This led to a second career in the government contracting world, training, conducting counter terrorism investigations and doing security around the globe. I was honored to meet and work with some great military operators, some of whom are still good friends today.
