While its style ranges from traditional to modern, his art is best known for its passionate, perceptive portrayals of the human form. As a writer and critic, he frequently contributes to art periodicals, and his work has been featured in museum and art exhibitions across North America. Powers divides his time between painting, drawing, and teaching workshops throughout the United States and Canada.
