"Sit your ass down, soldier." Gabriel growled. His voice was low and threatening enough that even Bastian stirred at it, alarmed. Renn sent him a look that was hard to decipher, and she hesitated, frozen in the kitchen with her mug of coffee in hand.
"I don't take orders from the likes of you." She finally hissed.
Gabriel did not move. He did not rise or raise his voice. He simply planted that cold, blue stare on the woman, narrowed his eyes ever so slightly, and smirked.
"Yes, you do." The danger in his voice sent shivers down Bastian's spine. "We can do this the easy way, where you walk us through your plan and we assist you, as I'm sure we'll find a way to do. Or... we can do this the hard way."
"What's the hard way?"
Was that uncertainty in that cocky tone of hers? Bastian found he wasn't sure.
"By all means... let us show you the hard way." Gabriel grinned wickedly. "We're all augmented soldiers here. There are a lot of ways we can convince you to cooperate."
