Autorenporträt
Fathali M. Moghaddam is Professor, Department of Psychology, and Director, Conflict Resolution Program, Department of Government, Georgetown University. Dr. Moghaddam was born in Iran, educated from an early age in England, and worked for the United Nations and for McGill University before joining Georgetown in 1990. He has researched a broad range of topics, toward developing psychology for and of humankind. Among his recent books are: The Individual and Society (2002), Great Ideas in Psychology (2005), Multiculturalism and intergroup Relations (2008), and The New Global Insecurity (2010). He is currently writing a book on the psychology of dictatorship. Rom Harré studied chemical engineering, turning to mathematics and then philosophy of science. Currently he is Distinguished Research Professor at Georgetown University, Washington DC and Director of the Centre for the Philosophy of Natural and Social Science at the London School of Economics. He has published widely on the ways language and languages impact our ways of being, including our cognitive and emotional skills and propensities. His latest book is Pavlov′s Dogs and Schrödinger′s Cat: scenes from the living laboratory, a study of the uses of animals and plants as scientific apparatus.
