Autorenporträt
Jonathan M. Fenkel, MD is an assistant professor of medicine at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he is also Director of the Jefferson Hepatitis C Center and Associate Medical Director of Liver Transplantation. He is board certified in internal medicine, gastroenterology, and transplant hepatology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Fenkel graduated cum laude and as a Benjamin Franklin Scholar from the University of Pennsylvania and magna cum laude from Jefferson Medical College, both in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland, and completed fellowships in gastroenterology and transplant hepatology at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Fenkel has been recognized by his peers and trainees as an outstanding educator, including a faculty teaching award in his first year of practice. He has authored more than 40 scientific works, including peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, abstracts, and poster presentations. He is a member of the editorial board of the World Journal of Hepatology. He has served as an invited peer reviewer for many prestigious journals, including the Journal of the American Medical Association, Hepatology, Digestive Diseases and Sciences, and the Scandinavian Journal of Gastroenterology.
