Christine Dawson Hodge, Ed.D. is a British Virgin Islander who began her career in education as a teacher on May 1, 1960 at Cane Garden Bay Methodist School. She also taught for one year at Major Bay School (now Willard Wheatley Primary School). She obtained a Teachers Certificate from the University of the West Indies during that period. From 1968 to 1998 she continued her career in the United States Virgin Islands (St. Thomas) as follows: teacher at Lincoln (Jarvis) and Jane E. Tuitt Schools, Assistant Principal at E. Benjamin Oliver, and Principal at E. Benjamin Oliver and Lockhart Elementary Schools and Adjunct Professor at the College of the Virgin Islands (now University of Virgin Islands). During that period, she obtained a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degree in Education from University of the Virgin Islands and a doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Miami. She is certified as a Reading Specialist, Assistant Principal and Principal in the United States Virgin Islands. Her tenure at H. Lavity Stoutt Community College spanned from 1998 to 2015 in the following positions: Head of Teacher Education, Associate Vice President and Acting Vice President. She was Chair-person of the Teaching Service Commission for six years. From 2001 to 2025 she was the President of the Ivan Dawson Memorial Scholarship Committee, a non-profit organization which donates a scholarship annually to the top exiting student of the Ivan Dawson Primary School, Cane Garden Bay, Tortola, Virgin Islands.
