Six year old Demetri, his four year old sister Greta and four other surviving children of the heretics under the age of ten, are sent to Home World to be educated by the Holy Church.

Three years before his graduation, Dimitri discovers some ancient manuscripts in an unknown language. He shares what he finds with the other five survivors.

Once they return home, they slowly begin to implement what they had found and once the rest of the colonist see the results they follow. After the Holy Church tries to forbid these practices to no success, the Holy Church moves to put down the new heresy.
