Prayer has been shared in several different ways. You could enter into prayer by using words, art, singing, silence, and by fasting-all different ways of ensuring that prayer is perceived as a holistic process. Prayer has also been understood as being "saved", as it will stand naked without the element of conversion. The attitude of thanksgiving is promoted on numerous occasions within the book. This is, once again, the result of an individual who has journeyed through a life of prayer. Our worldview is one of individualism and self-sufficiency. The understanding of a life of prayer promoted in the book is that Christ is the Alpha and the Omega. God is one who calls you out of community in order to be sent back into community. If there is one concept that I have gleaned, it is that we will be able to change society into a more caring society by having a life of prayer.
