There is an exciting new trend in interior design: maximalism. Some call it a rubber band effect to minimalism and perfectionist fatigue. Sarah Laming coins her approach to this trend Relaxed Maximalism.
One of people's biggest fears about maximalism is creating a house that is just messy and cluttered, rather than stylishly curated. It does take skill to mix color, pattern, texture, vintage buys, family heirlooms and modern practical pieces in a way that they fit harmoniously togetherSarah Laming shows you how.
Laming covers everything from planning the basics, to those all-important final flourishes, and explaining all the details in between. She will be illustrating its points with beautiful photographs, sketches, top tips, ideas to steal, and breakdowns of real rooms.
The book will bridge the gap between people's desire to bring this kind of design into their homes, and their need to know how to do it.
Laming's maximalist approach draws on the very British history of English country house design but with a modern twist.
Sarah's philosophy is that you should always create a home that makes you smile, reflects your personality, and your personal history. A home that is curated slowly and layered gradually so that it becomes a reflection of you...a home that is perfectly imperfect!
