Human beings seek meaning and purpose. To do so, we tell stories about the past, which we call history, and stories about what will occur in the future, constructed from memory and imagination. Robert P. Vande Kappelle, professor emeritus of religious studies at Washington & Jefferson College in Washington, Pennsylvania, and an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church (USA), is the author of over twenty books, including biblical studies and commentaries. Vande Kappelle has also written volumes on ethics, church history, and theology, including The New Creation (2018), Addiction (2019), The Second Journey (2020), and his sampler volume, Adventures in Spirituality (2020).
