Autorenporträt
Rolf Gugelmann, 1959 in Zürich geboren, wächst wohlbehütet auf, besucht die Primar- und die Bezirksschule und absolviert eine kaufmännische Lehre. Danach studiert er an einer Höheren Fachschule Organisation und Erwachsenenbildung. Er arbeitet u. a. neun Jahre in Nepal, wo er Frauen aus der untersten Schicht zu Unternehmerinnen ausbildet. Bereits als junger Mann hat der Autor eindrückliche Auslandserfahrungen gesammelt: Als 28-Jähriger geht Gugelmann nach Manila und lebt direkt neben der Deponie Smokey Mountain. Es ist das erste Mal, dass er die Schweiz verlässt und vor allem das erste Mal, dass er mit einem solchen Elend konfrontiert wird. In seinen Erinnerungen "Ricky - Überleben im Müll" berichtet der Autor eindrucksvoll davon. Neben dem Schreiben von Gedichten und Kurzgeschichten gehören auch Fotografieren, Lesen und Kochen zu seinen Hobbys. Gugelmann lebt heute im schweizerischen Aarau, ist geschieden und Vater von vier Söhnen.
