William Shakespeare is widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language and the world's preeminent dramatist. Lisbeth Zwerger is one of the most highly regarded illustrators of children's books and was awarded the Hans Christian Andersen Medal in 1990. She has adapted and illustrated numerous books, including The Little Mermaid, The Selfish Giant, and Tales from the Brothers Grimm. Anthea Bell is the recipient of the Schlegel Tieck Prize for translation from German, the Independent Foreign Fiction Prize, and the Helen and Kurt Wolff Prize in 2002 for the translation of W. G. Sebald's Austerlitz, and the 2003 Austrian State Prize for Literary Translation.
