Autorenporträt
Atty. Mangontawar M. Gubat holds the degrees of Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Management (2003), Master in Public Administration (1998), Juris Doctor (cum laude) (1989), and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Accounting (1984), all from Mindanao State University, Marawi City.
His teaching career included the following: Associate Professor, Mindanao State University College of Law; Assistant Professor in accounting, Jamiatul Philippine Al-Islamia; and Lecturer, MSU-IIT College of Law Extension Classes, MSU College of Business Administration; and Mindanao School of Business Administration (now defunct).
In the government service, he had held the positions of College Secretary (MSU College of Law), Public Attorney II (Public Attorney's Office, Information Officer II, and Staff Writer (MSU-Office of Alumni Relations).
Presently, he is Deputy Provincial Prosecutor (Provincial Prosecutor III) of the Province of Lanao del Norte. He was thrice designated by the Secretary of Justice as OIC-Provincial Prosecutor of Lanao del Norte covering the period from the middle part of 2016 up to the present, at which period, the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor of Lanao del Norte was awarded the 2017 Seal of Excellence and 2018 Seal of Excellence for being the best prosecution office (medium-case load) in Region X.
He is also author of the "Rules of Criminal Procedure Annotated," "Special Rules of Procedure Governing Philippine Shari'a Courts Annotated," and "Reviewer in Procedure and Evidence Governing Philippine Shari'a Courts." He is author of various articles published in the Mindanao Law Journal, Mindanao Varsitarian, Shura, Pagsibol, and Alumni Monitor where he had the privilege of serving in different capacities.
He is a member of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines, the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Beta Sigma Lambda Exclusive Law Fraternity, and founding President of the Stallones Accountancia (formerly known as Flintstones).
As a student, he graduated law as class salutatorian and college leadership awardee. He is a recipient of dean's award for academic excellence (1981), a class valedictorian (1975), and finalist to the 1989 Ten Outstanding Students of the Philippines.
