Running into Me is a collection of true stories from my life. I fearlessly share my early diagnoses, downfalls, and their concomitant miracle cures. I provide an intimate and transparent look into my personal decisions and tragedies. I face the difficult truth that there are some wrongs I can never truly right. Sometimes time runs out, or someone dies, or my prayers appear unanswered. I am faced with diagnoses and no known cure. I suffer from addiction with only a sliver of a chance at recovery. My birthright and inheritance are stolen. The home of my solace is ripped from my hands, and I feel powerless. People I love are unjustly taken and unexpectedly torn from the pages of my life.

Yet, in all the seeming desolation, darkness, and despair, a light shines. It burns with the love of my shepherding parents, who were true disciples of God. It burst forth in the rooms of recovery that led me into a life beyond my dreams. It beckons me forward into the hearts of my children. The warmth radiates from friends like Chris and Sherri. Power rushes in as I am blessed with multiple miraculous cures. After hitting bottom, I allow God to demonstrate through me what He wills for my life. When faced with an insurmountable diagnosis, I learned the power of prayer, positivity, and complete reliance on God. When I cried out to God 'in the desert,' He met me there. When all seems lost, something beautiful is found. If I cannot right a situation, that need never stop me from trying to do so. When situations look impossible, I need only look to God for the possibilities.

Elisemarie DiCarlo, M.D., is a Mental Health Counselor, author, motivational speaker, presenter, executive director, and founder of Talk 2 Me - A Program of Hope. She has dedicated much of her adult lifeto serving and advocating for those who need a hand-up for a wide range of reasons, particularly with mental health needs. She also has a passion for physical health and growth through positivity. In her counseling practice, she helps clients to define success for themselves and to develop action plans to accomplish their goals.Elisemarie specializes in working with people suffering from anxiety, depression, addiction, chronic pain, self-harming behaviors, and negative thoughts. She works with clients ranging from children to geriatric populations. She enjoys working with elite athletes, primarily in golf and swimming, to accomplish peak performance. Her clients consistently elevate to having top-tier experiences and more freedom than they ever imagined.Elisemarie grew up in the Midwest. After living in Boston and a convent in New Jersey, she also lived in Brooklyn, Manhattan, Milan, Los Angeles, and Omaha. She returned to live in Leawood, Kansas, where she has resided for the past twenty years. She is a devout Roman Catholic and strives to live an authentic and trans- parent life. Running Into Me was inspired by her intention to use every tragic and challenging event in her life to help others. She is a devoted wife and mother of four wonderful children: Jacob, Will, Nicholas, and Madison. They provide her with constant learning opportunities and inspiration. Her relationship with God is paramount and crucial in her circumstances, as it enables her to see beyond the current unfairness of life and rise to an eternal perspective.Elisemarie is exceedingly grateful for those God has placed in her life. She is dedicated to improving and challenging herself.
