SAVIOUR is the story about a young Jewish woman, Bayla, who is bought as a slave in Egypt by a wealthy Roman official, Trajan. Trajan, against the beliefs and culture of his people, is a Christian. Bayla hates Jesus the Messiah and blames Christ for the death of her family and her slavery. It is a beautiful story of how the Roman official, Trajan, leads Bayla to know Jesus for who He truly is and in the process the two fall in love. But all is not well in Egypt in the time of Emperor Nero and Christians are hunted and killed. A mysterious entity is at work from within the Christian community to gradually distroy it. The story includes the apostle Mark who is a dear friend of Trajan and comes to visit him, only to be brutally slain by the followers of the Apis cult after he discovers the source of the danger and tries to expose it. Bayla herself is abducted and finds herself once more facing a life of slavery unless the Jesus she has come to love and honour protects her and Trajan can rescue her in time.
The story throws a different light on Jesus and also on concepts that are very relevant today, but which are given an obscure and even condemning nature in the Bible, such as guilt, forgiveness, divorce, gender equality, sin, marriage, love, revenge and murder.
This book contains many aspects of the controversies in modern Christianity and brings them into a new light and new understanding.
