Ellison Blackburn lives in Seattle, Washington, with a few of her favorite beings. She is an educator, information technology manager, and author of several novels and short stories. Before assuming her current roles, she was a user experience designer/developer and digital-media product manager.

Life and work experience, together with an unwavering appreciation for the arts and sciences, have helped Ellison develop an eye for spotting technological singularitiespotential imbalances between who we are and what we are willing to do (and forsake) in the name of progress. With this ever-shifting, ever-increasing disparity in mind, she writes stories that combine speculative ideas with common genre-fiction tropes.
