As the narrator of this first book, in the Family Affair Series, I plan to share my own life lessons, information that I gathered from my social work practice, counseling sessions with clients, spiritual wisdom, my understanding of human behavior and the toxic pathologies of families; in story and character form. Toxic families remain aloof to cause and effect at its basic level which can thwart self-evolution of generations to come. Not inherently or utterly bad, the ego is about self-preservation at all costs and to do this, it will sometimes manipulate and even present a fraud to get what it wants.

A Psychology Today, Dark Shadows soap opera sort of book where you may glean that there is something unhealthy about the relationships in the stories to come. And you knew it from the very beginning because it was felt in the introduction of the music that was of a dark and sinister nature. As a work of fiction, these are cautionary tales, of the sort. They include life lessons synonymous with 'morals of the story' that are formatted short stories in prose.

In this 4-book series, I will begin with the ending in mind. This may ruin it for some readers but will bring an epiphany for others. This work is meant to be captivating and inspiring so that it challenges what you believe about purposeful living. The chapters will help build curiosity and forethought. Ah! The duty of forethought and curiosity. Both of which we must exhibit in order to be our best in life.

Autorenporträt

Anita Glaster says that she is a licensed teaching counselor. While you glean understanding for yourself during a session of CBT therapy, DBT techniques, coping skills and eureka moments you were sure to reach your next threshold. With over 20-years in service to the communities in San Antonio, Texas and the DFW area, her influence has helped many in their journeys to wholeness. Nevertheless, she was there to give additional clarity to who you are as a person, deserving of dignity and respect. She has volunteered with police and sheriff departments assisting domestic violence victims, employed at the district attorney's office in the family violence unit, homeless and domestic violence shelters, child protective services, and hospice agencies. She was also a frontline responder at community forums and invited to lecture at universities to nursing students.
