Having given in to his desires to broaden his outlook further, he accepts Oliver's invitation to his flat. After coffee, the two engage in some steamy sex. Oliver wants Alan to stay the night, but Alan has to leave early the next day, and so declines, leaving Oliver sorely disappointed but still happy.
