Sedlakova graduated from the department of Slavic philology and Slovak language and literature, successfully completed her doctoral studies. She worked as a university teacher, and currently works as a Slovak language and literature teacher. She is engaged in translation work and her own author's literary work for children, but also for adults, she writes poetry, prose, and dramatic texts.
