Autorenporträt
J. Swinehart grew up with the woodlands and long winters of Michigan, a state energized by horror culture. It's the birthplace of The Evil Dead, the home state of The X-Files' Gillian Anderson, and stomping grounds for the Michigan Dogman. The state's folklore left its horror claw marks on Jay's imagination early on. He began storytelling in the first grade, gathering classmates around the cafeteria table each day for a brand-new story. By age eight, he was writing stories by pencil, and by middle school, won a national writing competition. He's dedicated to producing thought-provoking fiction in horror, science fiction, and fantasy. His lifelong passion for science-from geology to astronomy to physics-helps bring fresh and intellectually rich stories to life. His work often explores the uncanny intersection of reality and perception, blending deep human questions with suspense and an uncertainty whether any of us found the "true" reality.Short Scares: The Owl Man is his debut release in Horror, offering a genre-defying collection of stories that together form a much larger story arc as a novel. Please join us in exploring this wonderful love letter to the genre!
