Sir Joshua Reynolds was born on 16 July 1723 in Plympton, Plymouth, United Kingdom. He studied under Thomas Hudson and was deeply influenced by masters such as Anthony van Dyck, Titian, Rembrandt, and Tintoretto. He became a central figure in the British art world and was instrumental in elevating the status of painting in England.
