Sixty Stanzas is a poetic retrospectiive on an American generation's journey from innocence to insolence in the mid 1960s as witnessed by the author as a college student in rural Indiana. The author fondly recalls the campus mores (societal, sexual, academic, etc.) of the early sixties and chronicles how they quickly evolved into something quite different. He cites the Beattles (and the whole " British Invasion") and the war in Viet Nam as the oddly paired catalysts that inspired a complete rewrite of the social compact that had guided America since the end or World War ll. Is this a scholarly work? Hell no! Just an easy to read poetic treatment designed to grab you by the heart as well as the mind and place you on the front porch of the author's fraternity house where you can watch America reinvent itself.
