Skinless takes place in New York City at the turn of the millennium. Skinless tells the story of Charmay, a female survivor of sex abuse and teenage homelessness, who is caught in the grip of alcohol addiction. The reader follows her journey as she struggles to find her identity while trying to make it in the entertainment industry in New York City. She becomes entangled in a web of romance, passion, money, manipulation, and longing for intimacy. Autorenporträt

Maggie Moor is a New York City-based author, jazz¿blues singer¿songwriter, NPC athlete, and licensed psychoanalyst. Her voice¿centered psychological¿suspense fiction explores identity, resilience, and trauma recovery. She is the creator of Charmay: New York Noir and the novel Skinless: The Story of a Female Survivor (Book 1) with a companion album, Skinless: Songs from the Book (Charmay & Maggie Moor), songs written and performed by Charmay in the story. A NYSED¿licensed psychoanalyst with a Gradivänominated clinical thesis, she is also the author of I AM: Mind and Body Union (Archway/Simon & Schuster), a psychoanalytic¿spiritual guide to integrating mind and body for healing. She maintains a practice focused on people in recovery from trauma and addiction; pro bono mental¿health work has included Rikers Island, The Treatment Service clinic, and a portion of her book proceeds supports youth homelessness services.
