This volume covers four current and controversial areas in law and social life from the perspective of law, psychology, and behavioral decision theory. The book is a guide to understanding the actual effects of law on everyday life situations. There is no other book that directly examines the role of psychology in substantive law and legal decision making. The book consists of four substantive units, each assessing the assumptions that the law makes about human judgement and decision making in a specific area.
