This story picks up John's life some years later after he had been imprisoned by the Roman Emperor at the Isle of Patmos and subsequently released by Emperor Trajan. He had a message for each of the seven churches. "The Messenger" is a fictional account of his experiences and people he met traveling to these churches about 100 AD. He influenced the lives of many people and was himself influenced by others.

At fifteen I accepted that I was a sinner and asked Jesus Christ into my life while at a Christian Revival. As an Army Brat we moved quite a bit, eventually settling into a small farm town. After two years of college, I joined the US Air Force earning my degree an commission. God blessed me by letting me do what I always wanted, work in the Space Program. I did that in the military and on to civilian life. During my high school years, I met a girl, Linda, who later agreed to be my wife. Three fantastic blessings from God, the first being Jesus. Retiring from the Air Force and being a semi-retired aerospace engineer, I was challenged by words in Mathew 16:28, "Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste of death before they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom." After doing research into this statement, I decided to write a book. The first was about Philip and the second, John. They are fiction, however, there is some basis of historical fact and setting of their time.
