Steps Towards Kindness and Accountability: The Dance of Healthier Relationships

In Book 4, we explore how to create healthier, safer more connected relationships-rooted in self-awareness, boundary-setting, and mutual care.

By examining communication styles, power dynamics, and the link between self-acceptance and responsibility, we uncover the patterns that support or undermine our connections. We learn to balance personal growth with collective wellbeing-so we can collaborate, communicate, and care more appropriately.

You'll explore how to:

. Take responsible action with compassion and confidence

. Create safe, respectful, and meaningful connections

Autorenporträt
'm Amberley Meredith, a registered psychologist with more than 25 years in mental health and over 60,000 hours spent in therapeutic conversations. Over that time, I've learned as much about myself as I have about the people I've supported. I've come to appreciate how meaningful it can be to ask the right questions about our experiences, to notice the subtle influences that shape how we see ourselves, to listen to our inner world with compassion, and to create space for reflection without judgment.Adaptable Sustainable Psychology (ASP) grew out of working with a diverse array of people and from my own journey-years of noticing influences and patterns, learning what supports us, and finding ways to stay grounded in our values and relationships. ASP brings together psychological ideas, curiosity and self-reflection, offering perspectives for those interested in exploring their inner world with greater gentleness and clarity. My hope is simple: that my work invites others to explore their own questions, consider kinder inner narratives, and engage thoughtfully with their sense of connection-to themselves and to the people who matter most.Career:Beginning as a volunteer at a UK-based drug and alcohol drop-in centre in 1995, I went on to complete a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Science in Health Psychology. For more than two decades, I have been a registered psychologist in both Australia and New Zealand, supporting individuals, couples, and groups in a wide range of settings.I have held diverse roles across the mental health sector, including working as an authorised officer, working in acute care wards and community teams, operating her own private practice, and completing training in multiple therapeutic modalities. I have also facilitated trauma-informed retreats and delivered psycho-educational programs in both community and workplace settings. My approach is grounded in respect for individual experience and the value of self-reflection and self-compassion. I believe in making psychological tools and strategies accessible, drawing on evidence-based practices and using a relatable, down-to-earth style.I created Adaptable Sustainable Psychology to offer educational support and resources that encourage individuals to explore how they care for their wellbeing in meaningful and sustainable ways.
